We need a competitor to bust the Bitmain monopoly

As long as the majority of miners are supplied by a single company, bitcoin will be in danger of subversion. Even buying bitmain hardware to mine on other pools creates profit for bitmain to reinvest in their own hashrate. We need a competitor who can provide mining hardware at comparable cost. I hate to say it, but Bitcoin needs an arms race.
