The Geek Group National Science Institute just accepted its first Bitcoin payment in the gift shop today. :)

Greetings everyone. I am sincerely pleased to report that a week after we started accepting BTC, we got our first customer who used it today. He bought a pair of video projectors in our surplus sale, and got a 10% discount for using BTC.

I may be wrong, but to my knowledge we're the first business in the city of Grand Rapids, MI to be actively accepting Bitcoin. There's an ATM a town over from here, but I haven't heard of anyone else in town.
