Is it best practice to keep the public key “secret”?

I recently learned that public keys are only exposed after the first transaction. As long as a wallet has never sent any sats, the public key is private too. Only they hashed address/es that receive sats are public.

Do you recommend switching to a whole new public key / seed when spending some amount from a cold wallet?
