About to start long term savings…question about wallets

So I believe in bitcoin I'm reading a book on it and I want to start long term savings I'm not the most tech savvy and I want to create and offline paper wallet…

So a YouTube video suggest to create one on bitaddress.org but the book suggest that I download the blockchain and down load bitcoincore

Is one way safer than the other?? Or I'm I at risk of putting a couple thousands in my paper wallet from bitadress.org? which seems like a easier process.
